Hair Implantation & Hair Cloning Information
Before we discuss what a hair transplant procedure is; let's take a look at
what Hair Implantation is not!
1. A successful hair transplant procedure is NOT the implantation of hair from another person.
Doctors have to use your own hair for your hair transplant procedure in order for it to work. Even though there has been testing done
on using “donor” hair from another person, ultimately the body rejects the “donor” hair and usually does not last past 30 days before
they die out. Our surgical team uses your own hair so it will last a lifetime.
2. A successful and natural hair transplant procedure
is NOT the implantation of artificial or prosthetic hair. This method has been banned by the F.D.A. for numerous complications. Artificial
hair implants are legal in some countries in Europe and despite claims that they have advanced, artificial hair implants still endure
a bad reputation due to a fake and artifical look.
3. Despite Hollywood's misguided and hypocritical sense of humor, a hair transplant
is NOT the implanting of "hair plugs." Hair plugs is an old term commonly used in the 1970’s and 1980’s to describe hair grafts which
consisted of 12 to 18 hairs per plug. This resulted in the patient having a Barbie doll hair appearance. Hair plugs have pretty much
become a thing of the past despite Hollywood's “hilarious” and “sarcastic” view towards them. Even if you wanted hair plugs implanted,
you would be hard-pressed to find a reputable and legitimate doctor that would agree to the procedure. Unless they have never furthered
their education and technical skills. In which you would want to run the other direction! At least 50% of A-list celebrities have
had hair transplants done. Unfortunately some are quite obvious and not that good. Celebrity hair transplants are as common as celebrities
having other cosmetic surgeries. Again…some of them aren’t so good either. It just goes to prove that even if you spend thousands
upon thousands of dollars on a surgical procedure…it doesn’t mean it’s going to look good. It’s all about the skills of the surgical
team. And you don’t have to put a high price on that!
4. The claims of using cloned hair is still just in the stages of wishful
thinking and a sales tool being used by others as a sales gimmick to get you in the door and then try to “talk you out of it because
it can’t really be done anyway”. Even if hair cloning was to happen in the future, there is nothing better than using your original
good genetically coded hair follicles first rather than a cloned copy. A copy of anything is really never as good as the original.
This is also true when it comes to a cloned follicle. It can be a weaker and less viable copy of the original and die. Then the FDA
would have to approve this cloning process and then there is the whole moral issue on top of that.
